Player Review

Derek looked solid at the Rubio Long Snapping VEGAS XXXI Event on January 12-14, 2018. First off, Derek has a great frame and can easily pass an eyeball test. His snaps are smooth and he has good balance. Form is good and he uses his lower half well. Need to see Derek focus on getting his upper body through...almost like he is diving through to the punter. If he can do that, his ball will not die at about ten yards and his speeds would be well under .725 with ease. Making sure is a bit looser on his feet and not so rigid when moving down the field will help him more with moving up the rankings. Increasing his overall athelticism is going to be huge for Derek. Great upside. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Derek grab a TOP 12 Camp Invite spot at VEGAS XXXII as he was one of the Long Snappers that was VERY close

RSI (Rubio Standard Index) is a scoring process developed by Rubio Long Snapping that weighs the average speed of the snap along with points for accuracy on the Rubio Target. Bonus points are awarded for a superior range of snap times. Scoring range is 0-80.
