Luca Samatar had a very good day at the camp in New Jersey on March 8, 2026. He is a big Long Snapper that easily passes the eyeball test the moment he steps on the field. His starting form is solid and he shows good balance throughout his snapping motion. Luca’s follow through is excellent and when he locks down his spiral, the ball becomes extremely tight and easy to catch. Continuing to work slow motion drills will help him get his massive legs more involved in the snapping motion, which will lead to more consistent speed on the ball. A tight spiral and strong mechanics are key for delivering an accurate and catchable snap back to the punter.  Luca has shown good improvement, is clearly headed in the right direction, and has lots and lots of upside. I am looking forward to seeing him at VEGAS 48 in May.
