Wilis Gates had a strong showing at the Rubio Long Snapping Camp in Charlotte, NC on November 9th, 2025. He’s a thick and powerful Long Snapper with a solid base and a frame that holds strength well. His starting form is good, and once he lowers his back to be more parallel to the ground, it will eliminate the slight butt hitch he has before snapping—this small adjustment will immediately improve his speed and consistency. His spiral is tight and the ball is very catchable. Gates is definitely on the right track, and with continued work on his form, he has the tools to take a big step forward. I am looking forward to seeing Gates at VEGAS 47 in January!
